The UK’s Festival Season kicked off this weekend with the launch of We are FSTVL on Fri, 24 May 2019 which runs through to Sun, 26 May. The festival has however encountered a little havoc on it’s second day with several attendees getting injured during a stampede.
The festival which is hosting headliners such as Chase & Status, Danny Howard, Andy C, Dubfire, Gorgon City and many more, reportedly left attendee’s waiting at the front gates for more than three hours because of an apparent shortage of entry wristbands and drink cards.
A barrier got thrown into the crowds, and one attendee said in an interview with the BBC, “the woman next to me got hit by it and it sliced a massive chunk out of her leg, she’s passed out on the floor, security ran over to her and people were just charging through. They took out the barriers, pushed through security, punching security, just taking everyone out in their way.

At the time it was hot temperatures and people left without assistance or water combined with missing out on their favourite acts led to heightened tensions, with people eventually pushing the gates aside and charging past staff and into the event.
