Riddim Commission's Latest Single is The Next UK Club House Staple

UK duo Riddim Commission are back with their first original solo single of 2019, and it’s bound to take the house music world by storm. “Look So Cute” is quite possibly one of the most infectious and fun house songs I’ve heard all year, which is exactly what house music needs and should be.

The track doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet at the same time displays a level of maturity and class that could only come from a duo as prolific and respected as Riddim Commission. It’s a UK Club dream combination of house, grime, and hip hop that is impossible not to have fun listening to. It’s fun and entertaining nature is due in part to catchy pop-rap vocals lended by UK pop artist Gabi’el, which lead into a punchy yet bubbly high-energy drop.

Riddim Commission, comprised of industry major players Marco Del Horno and DJ Swerve, have carved a name for themselves in the scene as highly respected record bosses and hosts for Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM and KISS FM. After dropping their debut album in 2017, the pair have scene support from industry heavyweights like Skream, DJ Target, and Annie Mac, plus crafting official remixes for the likes of Drake, Example, and Rae Sremmurd. It would seem the only way is up for these industry powerhouses.

Lithuanian producer Dynoro returns with his first release of the year, pairing up with Norwegian singer-songwriter Ina Wroldsen for ‘Obsessed’. Both being familiar and successful with deep house tracks, its almost like a match made in heaven.

Going under Dynoro’s signature style, it definitely keeps those deep bouncy vibes heard in previous releases such as the famous ‘In My Mind’, ‘Hangover’ and ‘Dreaming’. Wroldsen, also being familiar with dance music, saw success in working with respected musician Calvin Harris on ‘How Deep Is Your Love’. Wroldsen expressed her reasoning behind the track.

“This is a different kind of love song. It’s about the moment you realize, your love is turning from healthy and mutual to obsessive and excruciating. It was a fascinating song to write because it allowed me to get in touch with a darker side of myself, describing the search for a love that you know, deep down, isn’t there anymore.”

Having to follow up with a massive hit such as ‘In My Mind’, it can always be hard for artists to maintain high expectations from fans, but from the sounds of things - he definitely delivered. Dynoro also commented on his success of the release by stating.

“I’m overwhelmed on the support of my last single ‘In My Mind’ and really excited for my new track ‘Obsessed’ with the incredibly talented Ina Wroldsen. Thanks to my US label Arista and Sony for believing in me and making all of this happen.”

Kicking things off with style, we hope that both Dynoro and Wroldsen have more installed for 2019.

Son Of A Bishop and CAZZETTE team-up on a stunning new track

Courtesy of CAZZETTE’s Friday release, we’ve discovered a new artist and we. are. in. LOVE. New Music Friday Germany and Friday Cratediggers featured CAZZETTE’s surprise rework of “Love Left Me Lonely (Please Don’t Go),” the debut single from a new, and exceptionally promising, solo singer called Son of a Bishop. CAZZETTE has built a gorgeous house track here, but it’s Son of a Bishop’s vocals that steal the show. Dripping with soul, he croons heartfelt lyrics that seem to both ache with hope and revel in the pain of romantic self-discovery. Oh, and we just can’t get enough of that absolutely _killer_ falsetto.

>This is our first taste of the mysterious Son of a Bishop, but “Love Left Me Lonely” is a soul-nourishing morsel indeed. What we do know is that Son of a Bishop has previously provided supporting vocals for an all-star lineup of A-list acts: Sam Smith, Lauryn Hill, Pharrell, Chance the Rapper, and many more. We’re definitely eager to hear whatever Son of a Bishop has for us next. Until then, we wait, hearts open, and maybe wipe away a tear after another listen

Tom Ferry Drops "Skin Deep" feat. Alex Hosking
Alex Hosking.png

British producer Tom Ferry picked up global success with his hit collab “Remedy” featuring Swedish singer ILY and has been on a roll with catchy tunes ever since. His new song “Skin Deep” arrives this week and is no exception.

The 3-minute gem is a lesson in chill, deep house. Making a stellar debut on the song is Australian singer/songwriter Alex Hosking. Her airy vocals float effortlessly over light synths and a danceable house beat. The beauty is in the details on this one, with relatively minimalistic production surrounding an amazing vocal that gives the track a unique color and life. There is a certain maturity found here that makes the simplicity sound so refreshing.

Tom Ferry is garnering support on recent singles from the likes of KSHMR, Borgeous, Tritonal, Oliver Heldens, and Sam Feldt, to name a small few. Keep an eye out for “Skin Deep” to be making the rounds in mixes all over the house world over the coming months.
