TATE SEDAR is building a different kind of future. With the release of his debut EP THIS IS POST-EDM, the San Francisco native puts a name to the genre-bending approach he’s been fine-tuning for years. The five-track project is a full-circle moment, landing exactly one year after he first announced his post-EDM rebrand.
Clocking over 5.7 million streams in 2023, SEDAR’s been busy: headlining DNA Lounge, spinning alongside R3hab, and stacking support from heavy-hitting labels and playlists like Spinnin’ Records, UMF, and Future House Music. Now, with THIS IS POST-EDM, he ties it all together—fusing analog grit, digital polish, and autobiographical detail.
From the charged opener “San Francisco” to the cinematic closer “Dream” featuring Otto Palmborg, the EP traces SEDAR’s evolution both sonically and personally. Tracks like “Emotions” (ft. P$YCHEDELIC) push into hybrid house and hip-hop territory, while “Our Goodbye” and “Coming Home” lean into storytelling, melody, and nontraditional song structures that feel as personal as they are polished.
For SEDAR, the EP lays out a model. THIS IS POST-EDM is as much a manifesto as it is a release, signaling a future where genre lines are meant to be bent, blurred, or straight-up erased. If this is just the start, the rest of the post-EDM era is looking pretty bright.
