The Swedish House Mafia & Alesso Collaboration You May Have Missed

Swedish House Mafia and Alesso have produced some of the best dance music in recent times. Being good friends, the question of a collaboration has been on the mine of many fans over the past decade. However, they actually have collaborated – many are unknown that Alesso and Swedish House Mafia joined forces for the production behind an Usher single.

Back in 2012, Usher requested Swedish House Mafia and Alesso’s production talents for work on his 7th studio album Looking 4 Myself.

Swedish House Mafia produced ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Numb’, with Alesso joining on the latter. Throughout the album, these two records definitely stand out and the Swedish electronic sound is clearly present.

After performing together at the 2010 American Music Awards, Usher and Swedish House Mafia started talking and an eventual collab begin to take form. Once the Swedes made it to Atlanta, both records were complete within 5 days.

Along with these two records, Swedish House Mafia also wrote ‘Way To Count’ for Usher – which ultimately did not end up on the album and to this day, seems to be dead.

“It was a lot and they’re three different DJs but when they come together, they are a production conglomerate. So tryna get them together at the same time, when I was in Atlanta, we made the most of our time and we cranked out two records” – Usher talking about his collaboration with Swedish House Mafia.
