Throttle Delivers Enchanting EP “Where U Are”

Australia’s Throttle aka Robbie Bergin switched things up this year introducing a re-imagined sound, and with it a new label partnership to help him show it to the world. The move saw a triumphant return to Monstercat, where he landed his first official release back in 2012. Now Throttle serves us with his most expansive body of work to date, the ‘Where U Are’ EP.

In between that first release he’s collaborated with the likes of Oliver Heldens, Kungs and Galantis, penning numerous solo radio and club charting hits. Among them ‘Money Maker’, ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’, ‘Disco Night’ and ‘Like This’, but while he found constant support (including even Hilary Clinton) for his club driven records, he’s continuously evolved his sound and pushed the boundaries.

This EP marks a new and exciting chapter for Bergin as he embarks on an exploration of a softer palette. On top of previously released singles ‘Dreamer’ and ‘Japan’ we are now introduced to four more well-refined tracks. The melancholic intro ‘Away’ which sits at only 36 seconds sets the tone for ‘Dreamer’, a clear indication this is meant to be listened to as a whole. As you listen you’ll notice each track leads perfectly into the next with a subtle touch.

‘Where U Are’ in all feels like matured sound and something that many fans will hope to experience live, with a full instrumental set up. We certainly look forward to hearing new music in the same vein and will have this one in rotation for the next while!
