Sizzla is featured on four Black Sounds of Freedom songs, including “La Fiebre.” In addition, Trensettahs has produced an entire album for Sizzla titled Repatriation Movement.
Zalama Crew is a music group from Cali, Colombia, that combines reggae, reggaeton, hip-hop, and local Colombian music to create a unique South American Afrobeat sound. They have been producing music and touring as a band and DJ sound system for over ten years. Zalama Crew is featured on two songs on the Black Sounds of Freedom. Trensettahs has made an album with Zalama that will be
released by the end of the year, titled Cali Music Cartel. Trensettahs Sound System has planned a three-part movement, all titled “Black
Sounds of Freedom.” The first part is an annual festival in Ethiopia dubbed “the pilgrimage.” The second part is an album featuring artists from Jamaica, Ethiopia, Colombia, and the USA. The third part is a five-part docuseries that follows the collective to Colombia, Jamaica, and Ethiopia. This movement combines music with social resistance, traveling the black diaspora and leading people to explore Africa.
