When you think of the Miami music scene, one of the first things that come to mind is Ultra Music Festival. In March of next year, the venerated flagship event will return home to Miami’s Bayfront Park for its 23rd edition, from Friday, March 24 to Sunday, March 26. One of the main reasons UMF Miami sold-out last year is its exclusive RESISTANCE project. Showcasing the top underground house and techno talent from across the world, RESISTANCE crashes down at the futuristic Megastructure stage and The Cove, which features a highly aesthetic view of Miami’s Biscayne Bay.
More impressive than the stages themselves, is the announcement of RESISTANCE’s Phase 1 lineup. Making his comeback to the groundbreaking Megastructure stage, techno founding father Carl Cox will be once again delivering his Hybrid Live three-hour headlining performance. As far as back-to-backs go, HI-LO b2b Testpilot (Oliver Heldens and deadmau5’s respective techno alter-egos) will make their memorable global debut, along with underground queen Maya Jane Coles going b2b with Swedish techno guru Ida Engberg. A third b2b that is sure to blow attendees away is Eric Prydz techno persona Cirez D sharing the stage with drumcode founder Adam Beyer.
Apart from b2bs, RESISTANCE will encompass performances from UK duo Camelphat, SolidGrooves label boss Michael Bibi, Stephan Bodzin, Afterlife creators Tale Of Us, Anfisa Letyago, Chris Liebing, Ilario Alicante, Enrico Sangiuliano, and brother duo Mathame. Additionally, the newly-forged project of Popof x Space 92 Present ‘Turbulences’ will be making an appearance. Meanwhile, at The Cove, Nicole Moudaber will run a takeover of her influential In The Mood brand. She will be accompanied by a label takeover from Claude VonStroke and Dirtybird, as well as Joris Voorn’s Spectrum concept. Overall, RESISTANCE’s Phase 1 lineup paints an electrifying picture of the unbelievable UMF Miami 2023 experience.
