Amassing more than 2 million views within 24 hours of dropping on YouTube, anticipation is at an all-time high for new Michael Jackson biopic, ‘Michael’. The movie, scheduled for release on 26th April 2026, is distributed by Lionsgate Films and Universal Pictures, and stars Jaafar Jackson (nephew of Michael) in the lead-role as his Uncle.
Having seen several delays in release (which was originally teased to be Easter 2025), the movie is now finally set to hit cinemas, and judging by the reaction to the initial trailer, this could well be the most eagerly anticipated film of next year. Written by John Logan, who previously worked on ‘Gladiator’, and produced by Graham King (producer of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’), ‘Michael’ follows the life and career of the King of Pop.
Starting from his ‘Jackson 5’ days right through to his ‘Thriller’ era, and ‘This Is It’, the film will focus on the ups and downs of MJ‘s controversial relationship with the media, and adoring fans.
