“What Did I Do,” is a magnificent merging of two talents, Vanic and CRÈME. With Vanic holding down the production front and CRÈME killing on the vocals, these two styles clearly meld well together as “What Did I Do,” is the proof of this notion. From this well-designed atmospherics that come into play to the solid sample choice and drum work, there’ much to win over listeners in “What Did I Do,” all in one go.
While catchy and easy to get into, there something moving and touching about this release at the same time. The single rocks the spirit, a sign of a well-written sound no doubt.
For Vanic, a break from the project led to a defining studio album titled Here & Now, which has been well-received through and through. A long-lasting, influential artists in popular music culture, things wouldn’t be the same with Vanic’s hand in music.
CRÈME has a style and timbre that can be picked out of a lineup, she’s worked with dozens of names, some of them many times. Her continued demand from others for collaborations speaks volumes in it’s own right.
