Wildlands Debuts To A Sold Out Crowd In Brisbane

Brisbane turned it on at Wildlands 2020. The sun was out and all the acts were ready to perform their hearts out. Wildlands held its first edition at Brisbane Showgrounds on December 28th – teed up by the people behind Beyond The Valley. Therefore the acts largely replicated the BTV bill.

The weather may have been perfect for some, however in certain areas, it made for very uncomfortable crowds. Seeing a person without perspiration was a rarity. At times, the festival did feel like it was oversold – something that made traversing the festival ground and the moshpits not ideal.

There were definitely negative experiences at the festival, although the music was incredible and provided a diverse range of sounds on the four stages.

Highlights from the festival were RL Grime, What So Not, Jauz, RÜFÜS DU SOL. At the end of the day, the music was the main factor for a music festival and Wildlands smashed it out of the park with enjoyable music for all attendees.

For its first iteration, Wildlands was terrific – amazing food and drink, people and location. With it being an overall success, we hope to see Wildlands 2020 come to fruition.
