Los Angeles

California

The mad thing is I wasn’t originally the biggest fan of LA but I’ve fallen in love with it more and more over the years. The restaurants are incredible and if you’re lucky & get an offer to party at someone’s house in the hills, then take it!!

Ibiza

Spain

It’s always a No.1 go to place for me to party with my friends during the summer. Not only is the nightlife amazing but Old Town is a real mix of old & new with a chilled atmosphere and beautiful restaurants.

Barbados

Carribbean

Barbados has a special place in my heart: I went there as a kid and love the beaches & crystal clear water. Waking up in the morning and finding yourself surrounded by red crabs and swiminning with the turtles is a memory I’ll never forget.

Ferry Corsten Releases The Latest UNITY Collaboration with BT on ‘1997’

0

Ferry Corsten is back with his latest ‘Unity’ collaboration, after releasing the last one with Ilan Bluestone back in December – Ferry has teamed up with BT for a special collaboration in ‘1997‘.

Ferry Corsten has been busy with solo music in the first half of 2019, releasing ‘Freefall‘ – which feels like a more commercially viable release. He also returned to his Gouryella alias with ‘Surga‘.

Ferry Corsten has brought in another big name into the Unity project, with the legend that is BT. After remixing BT’s track ‘Suddenly’ in 2010, the pair are familiar with each other’s prowess in the studio, and that united vision is showcased in abundance. The team-up sees both artists strengths utilised to their best potential to create a track that is greater than the sum of its parts. As it should, the production leans heavily on the killer uplifting melody – which is a prominent throughout the entire track. The mix of each artist’s styles is present and concludes in an epic collaboration.

Ferry launched the UNITY project in 2018 with his collaboration alongside Paul Oakenfold titled ‘A Slice Of Heaven’, and continued working with artists within the Trance community throughout the year, such as DIM3NSION, Jordan Suckley, Saad Ayub and Ilan Bluestone, and after the success of 2018 has more releases in store after making his first donation to project partner, VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, an organisation launched to reinstate music programs in public schools, which to date has raised over $53 million and helped over 2,100 public schools.

You can learn more about the Unity project with our Ferry Corsten Interview.

Will Sparks Mixes Things Up With Touching Track ‘Next Generation’

0

‘Next Generation’ is Will Sparks latest offering. After spending some studio time in Los Angeles seven years ago, Will had the idea and vocal from this release. Now, seven years later, Sparks’ downtime whilst isolating has allowed him to finally finish the production.

Being a dominant name in the dance world, Will Sparks has taken a different route this time. ‘Next Generation’ focuses on the melodies and vocals, whilst his usual releases are hard hitting club records. This curve-ball was also seen with his most recent release ‘Lies’ together with New World Sound.

With over 300 million streams to his name and an ever growing fan base, this release is sure to be a crowd pleaser. With no shows to play, Will has been hitting the studio hard, with something like 10 tracks finished already – we cannot wait to hear more after our first taste with ‘Next Generation’.

The music video features children from around the world holding up the lyrics. The idea behind the video comes from the children being our “next generation”. The result is a touching way to involve young fans as well as the children of older fans. With everyone isolating, this video is the perfect way to overcome that!

88Rising Heartthrob NIKI Drops ‘Switchblade’ Along With Magical Music Video

0

Having stormed onto the scene in 2018 and has since supported Halsey, dropped debut EP ‘Zephyr’, and is set to perform at the 2020 edition of Coachella. The ‘lowkey’ Indonesian songstress NIKI returns today with a brand new single called ‘Switchblade’, a spacey rendition and her first release of the year is built around a landscape of mellow production, leaving her to standout.

Switchblade is different from the R&B infused sounds of ‘Say My Name’ and ‘Vintage’ while keeping her unique and soft voice at the front. She throws her foot firmly back in the world of pop, and yet she’s done it with the same style and undeniable skill. The song’s artwork shows her lying in a field of flowers under glowing light, and fits with the lyrics which plant her under the stars and looking far into the skies.

On the new song, NIKI explores beginning a new path and taking risks. While it appears to be about new adventures it could also be about staying in a relationship ready with her ‘Switchblade’, however, it represents the courage to be brave and in control of her own destiny and reminds us we can take on challenges without staying with what simply feels comfortable. Take a listen to the song below and take a peek at the music video where she pulls off a new blonde look in a galactic forest.

The 7-track EP is a blend of fresh new sounds that step away from his comfort zone and take you further into the way he sees the world. Benji Lewis Hits ‘Fast Forward’ On New Single

0

Los Angeles based Benji Lewis is making the weekend shine with warm, nostalgic, summery sounds on a new R&B infused song ‘Fast Forward’. Having recently given us three widely successful stand-alone singles including Ride Is It Love & Away, this new one just adds fuel to the fire.

‘Fast Forward’ started near the end of 2018 in a writing session with LA producer Kid Froopy (Deadbeats, Moving Castle). A natural synergy formed and with that, the writing process was quite easy, organic and enjoyable – the tracks first lyric was even inspired by their conversations as we’re told.

“We started ‘Fast Forward’ towards the end of 2018 and finished it off in early 2019. We got to talking before that first session and he said something to me about looking more inward, in regard to himself and his life. Almost instantly the opposite play on words “Inwards, Outwards” came to me, and then the rest of the song came to me quite easily and effortlessly.” – Benji Lewis

‘Fast Forward’ comes with Benji’s first music video which was shot in Los Angeles over the Spring with local photographer/visual artist Chris Weigen. The video and song explore the transition from one state of mind to another and how we try to hit fast forward on those difficult moments.

“This song is about getting out of a certain state of mind. Not wanting to think about or look at a current situation, relationship or particular person right now. We are never really stuck, and my subconscious was telling me this while I wrote the song. I was feeling like some much-needed alone time and craving change. I was listening to a lot of H.E.R. and Sabrina Claudio at the time. I’ve always loved rnb music and that’s just what we ended up creating with this one. It feels sexy, natural and honest to me.” – Benji Lewis

Mallrat Releases Dreamy Indie-Pop Anthem “Charlie”

0

Australian artist Mallrat is truly a triple threat. She sings, writes, and produces her own songs. This gives her complete creative control over her music. Malltrat’s vision is showcased in her latest single, “Charlie,” a catchy indie-pop tune. Despite its airy, dream like quality, the track feels unbelievably grounded in reality. Starting off with a detuned piano, Mallrat embraces all the imperfections of life; many of the lyrics are ugly and imperfect, but real. “My mom she smells like cigarettes”…“I want coffee for breakfast” Mallrat sings.

Mallrat, who’s real name is Grace Shaw, started her musical career at a very young age. At just sixteen years old her entirely self-made tracks often reached the top of the Hype Machine charts. Since then, she’s grown steadily. Her unique sound has captured the ears of some of the most important curators in the industry, with Network calling her “the Hannah Montana of the rap game” and Google using her music in a commercial. Now, the young artist is sticking to her guts with her latest indie-pop single “Charlie.”

Jhené Aiko’s Back With Emotionally Charged Freestyle on ‘Triggered’

0

The neo-soul meets R&B creative force Jhené Aiko is without a doubt one of our favourite modern artists. Her soothing voice delivered on top of precision crafted beats is better than payday itself. No matter how aggressive her intelligent lyrics might be, she exudes luscious textured sounds that send us into relaxation with style.

Having penned certified hits such as ‘Sativa’‘ and coming off the back of her acclaimed album “Trip” back in 2017. Now we’re hoping a new album is on the way, but while we wait for confirmation we are happy to receive the emotionally charged new single titled “Triggered”, one of her Freestyles.

On writing her most recent album Trip she was quoted as saying “ I put it all in the music. It’s a puzzle I want people to put together”. While with “Triggered” she’s made clear via a series of Tweets that it’s not a diss track of Big Sean, but we can read that it certainly appears it was about him.

It’s titled with “Freestyle” following on from another “Wasted Love” the first of her freestyle releases was back in 2013 on on her mini album “Sail Out” which featured collaborations with Vince Staples, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar.

She’ set to support Erykah Badu in UK in June and “Triggered” is out now via Def Jam, Listen below on YouTube or Spotify or click here to find all other available stores: https://JheneAiko.lnk.to/Triggeredfreestyle
