Los Angeles

California

The mad thing is I wasn’t originally the biggest fan of LA but I’ve fallen in love with it more and more over the years. The restaurants are incredible and if you’re lucky & get an offer to party at someone’s house in the hills, then take it!!

Ibiza

Spain

It’s always a No.1 go to place for me to party with my friends during the summer. Not only is the nightlife amazing but Old Town is a real mix of old & new with a chilled atmosphere and beautiful restaurants.

Barbados

Carribbean

Barbados has a special place in my heart: I went there as a kid and love the beaches & crystal clear water. Waking up in the morning and finding yourself surrounded by red crabs and swiminning with the turtles is a memory I’ll never forget.

Ferry Corsten Releases The Latest UNITY Collaboration with BT on ‘1997’

0

Ferry Corsten is back with his latest ‘Unity’ collaboration, after releasing the last one with Ilan Bluestone back in December – Ferry has teamed up with BT for a special collaboration in ‘1997‘.

Ferry Corsten has been busy with solo music in the first half of 2019, releasing ‘Freefall‘ – which feels like a more commercially viable release. He also returned to his Gouryella alias with ‘Surga‘.

Ferry Corsten has brought in another big name into the Unity project, with the legend that is BT. After remixing BT’s track ‘Suddenly’ in 2010, the pair are familiar with each other’s prowess in the studio, and that united vision is showcased in abundance. The team-up sees both artists strengths utilised to their best potential to create a track that is greater than the sum of its parts. As it should, the production leans heavily on the killer uplifting melody – which is a prominent throughout the entire track. The mix of each artist’s styles is present and concludes in an epic collaboration.

Ferry launched the UNITY project in 2018 with his collaboration alongside Paul Oakenfold titled ‘A Slice Of Heaven’, and continued working with artists within the Trance community throughout the year, such as DIM3NSION, Jordan Suckley, Saad Ayub and Ilan Bluestone, and after the success of 2018 has more releases in store after making his first donation to project partner, VH1’s Save The Music Foundation, an organisation launched to reinstate music programs in public schools, which to date has raised over $53 million and helped over 2,100 public schools.

You can learn more about the Unity project with our Ferry Corsten Interview.

Talented and successful artists in their own right, now collaborating – ‘Be Kind’ is set to be a worldwide hit. Just the name power along will have millions clicking play.

The two play off of each other, with the vocals and instrumental mingling perfectly. The feel good nature of the record brings positively in these dark times, you’ll be sure to hear this everywhere for the coming weeks.

“As soon as we finished the song, I was instantly obsessed!” says Marshmello. “Halsey and I connected and were both on the same page with what we wanted the final outcome to be! And it turned out great.”

Marshmello has really diversified his musical offerings so far this year, this pop track with Halsey comes after ‘Been Through This Before’ a rap release and ‘Crusade’, together with SVDDEN DEATH – a hard hitting dubstep/trap record.

Remix Radar 037: Featuring Sultan + Shepard, Yotto, and Tiesto

0

We’re back! I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day and spent it with a special someone. We were also blessed with a new Tame Impala album, which was leaked online previously. I’ve listened to it a few times already and have discovered new and interesting sounds each time. It’s a great record and I suggest everyone gives it at least a listen. In other news, we have a great Remix Radar for you. I have quite a few tracks in this edition that I love and will surely play quite often. The big boys we feature this week are Sultan + Shepard, Yotto, and Tiesto. Enjoy!

Lustral – Everytime (Sultan + Shepard Remix)

British electronic legends, Lustral, released “Everytime” over two decades ago where it became a club hit. Over the years they’ve released a few remixes of the record, but we just got a new one. The newest comes from Sultan + Shepard who spin a lush progressive remix that sends listeners on a synth-y wave.

Joris Voorn – Antigone (Yotto Remix)

The second remix for Joris Voorn’s \\\\ comes from the Finnish mastermind, Yotto. The “Antigone” remix is breathtaking and is truly a remarkable piece of music and rivals the original in emotional connectivity.

Halsey – You should be sad (Tiesto Remix)

Not going to lie this is included because of the star power on the record. Halsey’s smash country-pop single gets the Tiesto remix treatment to continue the promotional campaign.

John K. – if we never met (Sigala Remix)

A gooey melodic remix from Sigala. It’s full of warm and happy textures that melt together to form a playful sound. It works really well as a chill, groovy commercial track.

Casper Cole Ft. Elderbrook – I Want It All (Route 94 Remix)

“I Want It All” has been making quite a few waves. What better way to continue the party than dropping a Route 94 remix. This version is best described as a refined house boogie.

Robosonic & EPMD – For The People (Sonny Fodera Remix)

There are certain tracks that ooze coolness from the click of play. This is one of those tracks.

Kidnap Ft. Leo Stannard – Moments (Ben Böhmer & Nils Hoffmann Remix)

An absolutely stunning remix of “Moments”. It’s so wonderfully constructed it elicits a strong emotional response similar to the first time I heard the original Kidnap version. Great job, Ben Böhmer and Nils Hoffmann.

Armin van Buuren vs. Tempo Giusto – Mr. Navigator (Sevenn Remix)

Typically, I try to avoid featuring remixes of the same track, but when I clicked play on Sevenn’s remix…IT HAD TO BE INCLUDED. Sevenn brings puncturing energy to Mr. Navigator that sends shockwaves through the body.

Georgia – Never Let You Go (Prospa Remix)

Whoever is behind the A&R job for Georgia’s “Never Let You Go” remix pack deserves a pat on the back and a pay raise. Excellent sounds all around. This week’s version is a soaring DnB version from Prospa.

Kraak & Smaak Ft. Satchmode – Don’t Want This to Be Over (Jean Tonique Remix)

The most recent Kraak & Smaak song gets a psychedelic remix from Jean Tonique. It’s such an intoxicating grooviness that can’t help, but bleed into listeners and send them careening through each lick of sound.

Catching Flies – Kite Hill Theme (Freddie Joachim Remix)

Freddie Joachim creates a magical remix of “Kite Hill Theme”. The Catching Flies original transforms from a slow, rumbling, cinematic experimental tune to a mesmerizing blend of electronic, jazz, and funk. Freddie completely flips this into something that radiates warmth.

TCTS Ft. Maya B – Not Ready For Love (Zac Samuel Remix)

Zac Samuel adds an enchanting piano line and some sticky textures to TCTS’s “Not Ready For Love” to bring a new version to life. This one will get stuck in your head and you’ll be singing the chorus for days to come.

Sikdope – Follow (ATRIP Remix)

ATRIP takes a fierce approach on his remix of Sikdope’s “Follow”. The low growl of bass hits just right and with mind-melting effect.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Mercury Rev – Senses On Fire (James Holden Remix)

All the way from 2008 comes the inventive James Holden remix of “Senses On Fire” from Mercury Rev. James warps the track into a nearly 10-minute long tune that bumbles and pops with distorted growls, sharp synths, and entrancing energy. It will transfix the mind as listeners embrace the sonic journey.

Birds Of Prey Soundtrack Feat. Halsey, Sofi Tukker, Normani Out Feb 7th

With Warner Bros. latest DC installment ‘Bird of Prey’ releasing globally February 7th, the soundtrack is set to follow suit. Like the female lead move, the soundtrack is made up of just female musicians.

The entire album consists of exclusive music to the movie, with notable acts including Halsey, Doja Cat, K. Flay, Normani, Sofi Tukker. Halsey’s ‘Experiment On Me’ was co-produced by Jordan Fish and Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon. This partnership will be very exciting to hear in full, for the time being – you can catch a glimpse of it in the soundtrack trailer below.

“We started by compiling a list of artists that we wanted to target based on the key music needs of the film, with the overall goal of creating an aesthetic that felt like Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey,” Atlantic Records West Coast president Kevin Weaver said in a statement to Complex. “By attacking the creative this way, we were able to achieve the most seamless integration of the music into the film, with all of the songs feeling completely on brand and authentic to the project and characters. My main goal was to accomplish this while also compiling a diverse group of cutting-edge young female artists who represent the ultimate bad ass girl gang.”

Ahead of the full soundtrack (and movie’s) debut, the Atlantic team is laying out four singles from the album in a unique way, with one dropping each week up until release day.

Birds Of Prey: The Album
  1. Doja Cat – Boss Bitch
  2. WHIPPED CREAM (feat. Baby Goth) – So Thick
  3. Megan Thee Stallion & Normani – Diamonds
  4. Saweetie & GALXARA – Sway With Me
  5. Charlotte Lawrence Joke’s On You
  6. Maisie Peters – Smile
  7. CYN – Lonely Gun
  8. Halsey – Experiment On Me
  9. Jucee Froot – Danger
  10. K.Flay – Bad Memory
  11. Sofi Tukker – Feeling Good
  12. Lauren Jauregui – Invisible Chains
  13. Black Canary – It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World
  14. Summer Walker – I’m Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby
  15. ADONA – Hit Me With Your Best Shot

Remix Radar 025: Featuring Jonas Blue, NGHTMRE, and Axwell

0

Welcome to the Twenty-fifth edition of Remix Radar! We have quite the doozy of a week. A lot of quality of remixes we’re released with quite a few that had to be cut that would have made it in prior weeks. Sad, but it has to happen or I’d spend 15 hours a week on exclusively Remix Radar and I can’t do that.

Enough ranting, scroll down for what one man declares as the best remixes of the week. It’s well worth it!

Regard – Ride It (Jonas Blue Remix)

We start this week with arguably one of the most viral tracks of the year and its remix. Regard’s “Ride It” exploded on TikTok and spread like wildfire. Jonas Blue, an artist who knows a thing or two about massive blowups, brings his vision and provides a nice reimagining that will surely bring even more spins to Regard.

Habstrakt – The One (NGHTMRE Remix)

NGHTMRE takes Habstrakt’s “The One” to another dimension of BASS. If “The One” started on a level of 9 on a scale of bass intensity then NGHTMRE brings it up to an even spicier level not even on the scales. Sit back and let NGHTMRE blow your mind.

Halsey – Graveyard (Axwell Remix)

If you told me this was a remix of Halsey, I wouldn’t believe you and that isn’t a bad thing. Axwell does a great job of creating an infectious bounce that mixes with the pitched-up vocal sample for tasty ear-candy.

Mahalia Ft. Ella Mai – What You Did (Preditah Remix)

Preditah brings his trademark UK garage stylings to breath a club spirit into Mahalia and Ella Mai’s sexy RnB tune, “What You Did”. After listening to this 15 times, I’m confident in saying Preditah and Mahalia definitely need to link on a collaboration.

Grimes & i_o – Violence (Club Mix)

Not your traditional remix. Nonetheless, it’s a very cool club mix of Grimes & i_o’s “Violence”. I personally prefer the “club thump” to the original.

REYNA – The Way I Loved You (RAC Mix)

REYNA comes from my home state of Wisconsin so I will admit I have a soft spot for them. However, that doesn’t cloud my judgment for their RAC mix because it’s WITHOUT a doubt a great song. RAC brings that delectable groove that he’s brought to many songs. This one will skate around your head and will stay cemented there until the New Year.

P.S give a listen to REYNA. They bring a really cool sound to the indie-pop world.

Riton and Oliver Heldens Ft. Vula – Turn Me On (Marshall Jefferson Anthem Mix)

This is an absolutely saucy and groovy tune. One of the original purveyors of Chicago House, Marshall Jefferson brings a classic house mix and feel to Riton and Oliver Heldens’ “Turn Me On”. It’s an absolutely wonderful tune.

AURORA – Daydreamer (KDA London Dub Mix)

KDA brings a new perspective to AURORA’s “Daydreamer”. The British artist weaves frosty beats and sexy textures to construct a lush sound that will wow listeners.

Hot Since 82 – Tilted (Raxon Remix)

Raxon brings a terror-inducing sound to the remix of Hot Since 82’s “Titled”. The dark sound was a perfect tie-in for the final spooky weekend of the Halloween season.

Robosonic & EMPD – For The People (Illyus & Barrientos Remix)

A joyous sonic experience brought to you by Illyus & Barrientos. The duo increases the BPM and lets the bass roar and energy swell to build a hypnotic rhythm from Robosonic & EMPD’s “For The People”. 100% banger.

PNAU Ft. Ollie Gabriel – All Of Us (Brux Remix)

PNAU’s “All Of Us” gets a spacy house remix from Brux. It rattles and thumps with infectious sound design. Brux definitely brings his trademark brooding rhythms to the remix.

Dom Dolla – San Frandisco (Walker & Royce Remix)

I love the original and I now love the remix. Walker & Royce lace Dom Dolla’s “San Frandisco” with outrageous sounds and samples to create a dreamland for tech-house fans.

DOPE LEMON – Hey You (Dope Lemon Vs. Cedric Gervais) [Cedric Gervais Remix]

Cedric Gervais creates quite an unexpected sound from the growling indie tune by DOPE LEMON. Cedric’s remix brings his classic house sound to “Hey You”. The track has a sexiness that makes this perfect for laser-lit clubs.

Robinson – Don’t Say (PBH & Jack Remix)

PBH & Jack drizzle intoxicating synth-waves on Robinson’s “Don’t Say” to construct a sizzler of a remix. it’s clear to see why BBC Radio 1’s Mistajam named them “ones to watch”.

Lastings – Last Breath (Adult Art Club Remix)

I’ve been a big fan of the music from Lastlings and Adult Art Club. That fandom doesn’t change as Adult Art Club transforms “Last Breath” into a dark and twisted synth-heavy tune that is layered with intricate sounds. It’s pure ecstasy.

Eli & Fur – Into The night (Black Circle Remix)

Eli & Fur gets a little deeper and darker with a remix from Black Circle. There’s a lot of interesting sounds that ring throughout this track and forms a nice cosmic-like journey for listeners.

Elderbrook with Rudimental – Something About You (Mason Maynard Remix)

Mason Maynard drips his trademark psychedelic house vibes on Elderbrook and Rudimental’s “Something About You”. There’s something about this remix that will leave an insatiable groove rattling between listeners’ ears.

Fatoumata Diawara – Kokoro (Laolu Remix)

The Malian Grammy-nominated artist, Fatoumata Diawara, gets a haunting house remix from Laolu. The Swiss artist creates infectious energy and sound that listeners will come back to many times. It also seems to be perfect for a hipster house party.

Laurent Wolf – No Stress (Tommie Sunshine & MureKian Remix)

I had the pleasure of meeting Tommie Sunshine at this year’s ADE and I have to say, he’s easily one of the nicest guys in Dance Music. He is also really great at producing dope tracks. His streak of dopeness continues with MureKian and their remix of Laurent Wolf’s “No Stress”.

Robbie Dox – Mymind (The Cube Guys Remix)

The Cube Guys keep creating funk-inspired tunes and I am loving every second of it. Their spin of “Mymind” is groove-tastic and will start a party anywhere it’s played. An absolute banger.

Detriot Swindle – The Life Behind Things (Isoul8 Remix)

Isoul8 unleashes a vibrant groove to unlock the party for listeners. The newcomer definitely brings a delightful and psychedelic spirit to Detroit Swindle’s “The Life Behind”.

Tony Casanova – Kap Suzette (Jonas Saalbach Remix)

Jonas Saalbach builds an atmospheric soundscape from Tony Casanova’s “Kap Suzette”. The slow build-up of intricate layers is well worth the wait as it consumes listeners with the full vibrancy of the sound.

League Of Legends – Phoenix (Blanke Remix)

I am surprised it took this long for League Of Legends to capitalize on the convergence between gaming and dance music, which we’ve seen plenty of in the past couple of years. Gladly, League Of Legends brings in the always impressive Blanke to remix “Phoenix”. The result is a well-spirited, future bass tune that League fans will enjoy.

Knife Party Ft. Harrison – Death & Desire (Laidback Luke Remix)

Laidback Luke conjures spirits from 2012 EDM to construct a whirling remix from Knife Party’s “Death & Desire”. This one will hit listeners with feelings of nostalgia.

Sultan + Shepard, Rock Mafia & Bahari – Miles to Your Heart (HARBER Remix)

Burgeoning artist, HARBER, brings a playful exuberance to “Miles to Your Heart”, the collaboration between Sultan + Shepard, Rock Mafia & Bahari. It’s a very fun and joyous remix that will bring warmth to listeners’ days.

Brooklyn Bounce – Bass, Beats, & Melody (Sergio Marini & Luke Remix)

Sergio Marini & Luke create the perfect remix to soundtrack a vampire party. Or I still have a Halloween hangover clouding my judgment… Anyway, the progressive techno stylings make for a juicy remix that will feel at home in any dimly lit, cement only rooms.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Teenage Bad Girl – Cocotte (Boys Noize Rework)

In honor of Boys Noize’s recent releases and appearance as Dog Blood at HARD Day Of The Dead this past Saturday, I bring forth the Boys Noize rework of Teenage Bad Girl’s “Cocotte”. In what would become a familiar Boys Noize element, he unleashes a heavy amount of distortion that creates an almost Daft Punk quality – listen to “Robot Rock/Oh Yeah” off Alive 2007 and you’ll get what I mean. Overall, I really enjoy the scratchy, demented sound that Boys Noize constructs.

Axwell Returns To The Remix Game With Rework of Halsey’s ‘Graveyard’

0

Axwell, one third of the iconic Swedish House Mafia trio has just published his fresh new mix of Halsey’s ‘Graveyard’. Similar to his recent exports, this production presents a thrilling house beat together with the catchy aspects of Halsey’s original.

Whilst Axwell has been likely hard at work on new Swedish House Mafia music, he has also released his original ‘Nobody Else’ as well as a remix of Martin Solving and Jax Jones’ ‘All Day and Night’ and a cut of Redfield’s ‘Don’t Worry’ on his own imprint. All these releases have encompassed Axwell’s new bouncy house sound that he premiered with ‘Nobody Else’.

With this remix, Axwell has tweaked the vocals heavily, changing them from Halsey’s sweet sound to a darker and deeper vox. The punchy melody is spread evenly throughout the production, maintaining a consistent arrangement.

With new Swedish House Mafia music existing but not yet in our hands, receiving music such as this piece is refreshing and keeps us at ease. Once again Axwell has provided the goods in terms of a remix, we hope we seen another soon!

Post Malone’s Third Album ‘Hollywood’s Bleeding’ Is Out Now

Featuring a star studded lineup, obviously including Austin himself, Hollywood’s Bleeding is now live worldwide. Released through Republic Records (Universal), this album continues their deal with the hit-maker.

Post announced the tracklist for the album on Tuesday (Sept. 3), revealing that Hollywood’s Bleeding will contain 17 tracks. The album features 10 guest spots, including Da Baby on ‘Enemies’, Halsey and Future on ‘Die For Me’, Meek Mill and Lil Baby on ‘On The Road’, Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott on ‘Take What You Want’ and SZA on ‘Staring At The Sun’.

Fans have already heard the singles ‘Sunflower’ with Swae Lee and ‘Goodbyes’ with Young Thug. Other tracks on the album include the title song, ‘Saint Tropez’, ‘Allergic’, ‘A Thousand Bad Times’, ‘I’m Gonna Be’, ‘Internet’, ‘Myself’ and ‘I Know’.

Just two days before release, Post Malone released the official music video for ‘Circles’. Post is featured on a medieval battlefield scattered with bodies, then transitions through the village and eventually to a girl who resembles Rapunzel.

Fans will be thrilled to experience and immerse themselves into the 17 songs on this album. Some of these collaborations will exceed the imaginations of fans. The combination of Post Malone, Travis Scott and Ozzy Osbourne is no doubt interesting and will ultimately result in major hit.

Post Malone is one of the biggest hip hop artists in the game at the moment, this LP could catapult him to the top. There is no doubt this album will be a success, with the pre-released singles collectively achieving over 2 billion streams – this album will definitely be the king of the charts for the foreseeable future.
