Amsterdam artist Bakermat releases his long-awaited second studio album ‘The Sprit‘ available for streaming today via Ultra Music. Known for his original blending of various genres, the dutchman is full of diverse production techniques that have gained him a loyal fanbase since the release of his debut single ‘One Day (Vandaag)’ back in 2012. His fan base consists mostly of young individuals looking for something beyond mainstream or underground music.
This track varies across a wide spectrum, duplicating elements of his signature sound by tapping into several genres. Born and raised in a music-centric home, Bakermat has always been musically inclined, paying respect for his inspiration to his mother and father for his fresh inventive sound design.
Bakermat stated in a recent interview, “I wanted to go back to the roots with this album. Combining gospel, soul and folk samples with uplifting pianos and saxophones to create a collection of feel-good songs perfect for the summer. The diversity in styles and genres is high and I experimented with elements of classical music and spoken word too. I hope this album can serve as a soundtrack for road trips, holidays and other fun times with friends and family. And lastly, I hope it inspires and connects people.”
