CamelPhat Want You To Take A Trip With Newest Album ‘Spiritual Milk’

Today, CAMELPHAT, the acclaimed DJ and production duo with multi-platinum status and GRAMMY nominations, has released their album Spiritual Milk. It launches under their very own label, When Stars Align.

After the release of ‘Dark Matter’ in 2020, Spiritual Milk marks a significant exploration into the evolution of the duo’s groundbreaking musical style. It serves as a definitive testament to the distance they’ve traveled and their ambitious plans for the future. Emerging from a period of isolation, returning to the vibrant club scene, and regaining the freedom to explore the world, this album embodies a celebration of life and an unwavering appreciation for all that it offers.

Speaking about the album, CAMELPHAT said: “We’ve felt a lot less pressure delivering this record possibly due to the fact it’s on our label (WSA), but also we’re at a point in our career where we can possibly afford to be more expressive and less fearful about what other people think. It has definitely come from the heart and feels honest both as writers and musicians. We’ve had fun with it; we’ve made music less with the dance floor in mind and more with our emotions. The whole thing came together surprisingly very easily.  “Spiritual Milk” is a listening album that takes your mind away from everyday life. The name itself has captured the overall essence of the album perfectly.  Take the trip & enjoy the ride.”

It’s clear with this LP that the Liverpool duo shifted focus from what the dancefloors demanded to what they themselves wanted to output. This is a project for them first, before fans. With records such as the outro with Jake Bugg ‘Love Is Something’, it is a departure from the CamelPhat we know. Whilst it is different, it’s welcomed. being on their own label, the pair could release the 16 tracks on their own terms, resulting in an album that is only their vision.

Whilst the album may not be received as well as their previous one, thanks to the bubbly club beats and mesmerising melodies – Spiritual Milk is still a fantastic offering and we be on repeat for the foreseeable future.

For the album artwork, CAMELPHAT wanted to explore the idea of ‘electronic trip’ and ‘modern psychedelic’ artwork and happened upon Niko Christian’s (aka c-nik) surreal designs. Niko is a multidisciplinary artist based in the US, working to create peace from chaos in surreal arcs of light, life, and time and developing the idea that you can touch heaven from anywhere.
