Following on from releases ‘Seven Nation Army’ and ‘Give It Back’, which now amass a total of over 10 million streams, DJ Fluke now drops ‘Paint The Sky’. The Melbourne based artist links with Nikita Afonso for the single, landing on Dancing Dead.
Canadian writers and singers Rick Sloboda and Nikita Afonso approached DJ Fluke to produce a song they had written. Loving the vocal hook, DJ Fluke instantly created a melody for it and the rest is history. Only later did he realise the true meaning behind the lyrics.
The song talks about how people are faced with a peer pressure to fit in to a mold that society judges us on. It’s something kids and the youth face even more so than adults and results in a lot of people being something they really aren’t. The song encourages people to be themselves and “Paint The Sky with whatever colors we like” metaphorically which is an amazing message.
The production of the record blends electronic elements together with pop. DJ Fluke took inspiration from trap, future bass and melodic bass when producing this one and the result speaks for it’s self. Listen below!
