DJ Snake Reportedly Cancels Festival Appearances Due to Small Crowd

DJ Snake’s recent appearance at Poland’s Fajer Festiwal did not happen. Held at the promenades of Stadion Śląski in Chorzów, the festival announced that its major headliner for Sunday did not appear.

Fajer explained that “Due to the lack of full technical readiness, the headliner of the last day of the festival did not appear on stage for reasons beyond the organizer’s control.”

Some Redditors explained that they saw his Instagram story of his team landing in Poland on a private jet (later deleted), and also saw his team setting up at the front of house of the festival. Ten minutes into his supposed set time, festival organiser and owner of DM Agency, Darek Maciborek, took to the stage to personally deliver the news to the remaining crowd that DJ Snake would no longer perform.

With around 200 to 500 people in the crowd, it certainly seems this was the reason why. People seemingly confirmed with the festival that this was the case. The Sunday lineup also featured other notable electronic acts including Kungs and Netsky, giving a better sense of the event’s intended scale.

The cancellation has sparked significant backlash within the electronic dance music community. A prominent thread on the r/EDM subreddit has gained massive traction, with fans heavily criticising the decision and labelling it as ego-driven. Many fans in the online discussion contrasted DJ Snake’s actions with stories of other artists who have famously honoured performance commitments despite extremely small turnouts.

The festival has since refunded all ticket holders for the day. DJ Snake has not commented on the cancellation of his performance in Chorzów, Poland.

In recent times, DJ Snake was also considerably late for both of his sets in Australia for Ultra Australia, leaving organisers shifting set times on the fly.
