The wait is finally over. This Saturday, 28 March 2026, the full back-to-back set from Fred again.. and Daft Punk legend Thomas Bangalter officially lands on YouTube. Filmed during the final night of Fred’s massive USB002 residency at London’s Alexandra Palace last month, the performance has already been hailed as a historic moment for electronic music.
In true Fred again.. fashion, the road to this release hasn’t been without a bit of chaos. Before the official premiere was set, Fred accidentally leaked an almost finished edit of the set. Taken down not long after, the set was still seen by many.
Announcing the set’s date, Fred surprised posted on the Daft Punk subreddit. Holding a handwritten note that simply read ‘Hello Daft Punk Reddit – Saturday 5:PM’, he sent the subreddit into a frenzy.
This wasn’t just another surprise guest appearance. This performance carries immense weight as it marked Bangalter’s first UK performance in over 18 years, his last being the legendary 2007 Alive tour at Wireless Festival. Seeing Thomas behind the decks without the iconic robot helmet is still a surreal sight for many, marking only his second public DJ set in nearly two decades.
The set is a masterclass in curation, featuring heavy-hitting Daft Punk classics like ‘One More Time’, ‘Digital Love’, and ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger’ seamlessly mashed with Fred’s signature ‘USB’ energy.
“I can’t believe I’m typing this,” Fred shared on Instagram. “There is only one way to end this tour of surreal whirlwind dream casting. And it is with this man. The greatest.”
The chemistry between the two is palpable throughout the two-hour journey. While Fred is his usual energetic self, Thomas brings a grounded, technical precision to the booth that reminds everyone why he is a pioneer of the genre.
The full professional 4K recording premieres on YouTube this Saturday at 5:00 PM GMT. If you missed the leak, clear your schedule because you’re going to want to hear this one at full volume.
