Ol’ Burger Beats Reimagines ’74: Out of Time’ A Year On

Ol’ Burger Beats reimagines his 2024 album 74: Out of Time. Offering a fresh new take on the project, he transforms the soundscape on the one year old LP.

By layering newly unearthed beats and intricate jazz arrangements around the original vocal performances, Burger crafts a remix project that seamlessly bridges past and present. The result is an immersive, textured experience that blends vintage soul aesthetics with forward-thinking production, reaffirming his talent for sonic reinvention.

Despite the new production approach, the album retains its stellar roster of progressive rap talents from the original release. Fly Anakin, Pink Siifu, billy woods, Awon, Ill Camille, lojii, Gabe ‘Nandez, Quelle Chris, YUNGMORPHEUS, and more lend their distinctive voices, grounding the project in its original artistic vision while embracing its evolved form.

“It was a fun challenge to revisit these songs. I’d like to think that I managed to give it a new feel while maintaining the spirit of the album, and of course keeping the pace in step at 74 BPMs,” says Burger.

74: Out of Time (Reimagined) is available digitally and as a highly collectible vinyl release, limited to 300 copies. The special Viridian Marble edition, restricted to just 150 units, features matte-finished jackets, an OBI strip with liner notes by music journalist David Ma, and hand-numbered center labels. Remaining copies can be purchased via Bandcamp, Coalmine’s web store, and HHV for international orders.
