Apl.de.Ap Lets Fans Co-Own His New Single ‘I Wish’ Through Fankee

Apl.de.Ap, founding member of the Black Eyed Peas, is flipping the release playbook with his upcoming solo single “I Wish.” Rather than just dropping the track on DSPs, he’s teaming up with Fankee to let fans buy into the master rights, literally.

Through Fankee’s platform, 25% of the track’s rights are being offered up in micro-shares. Each fan can grab up to 5 shares for $5 apiece and become a credited co-producer on the record. Ownership means a cut of royalties and a front-row seat in the song’s journey – whether it hits algorithm gold or trends on TikTok.

The production comes via Edgar Sino (aka Artek606), with the rollout happening a few days before the track lands on streaming platforms. Five “Golden Shares,” priced at $1000 each, unlock mentoring calls with Apl and exclusive merch—offering deeper access for fans who want to get closer to the process.

There’s also a social angle baked in. Fifty splits are reserved for users who use the track as a sound in social posts. Fankee tracks performance and engagement, rewarding top-performing content creators with actual ownership in the song.

As Fankee’s founder Giacomo Pellegrini puts it, “Social media decides what blows up, and fans hold the power. Fankee turns that power into ownership.”

It’s a concept that merges loyalty with leverage – something Apl.de.Ap clearly values. “Fankee has a revolutionary model that allows the fans to join in on the backend of this song as a thank you,” he shared. “I love you.”
