Hi Alex! How have you been?
Oh man, this year has been nothing short of amazing! The first six months of 2024 have been an absolute whirlwind of awesome projects and fulfilling work. I’m seriously pumped to see all of these creative endeavors come to life in the second half of the year. It’s been a wild ride so far, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!
Can you share what you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not busy with music production, I absolutely love traveling and discovering new cultures. There’s nothing quite like exploring new places, trying different foods, and learning about local customs. And in my downtime, I’m all about unwinding with a good movie—there’s just something special about getting lost in a great story on screen! My wife and I also run a small dog boarding business, which is a total blast. We get to hang out with furry friends every day and provide them with a safe and loving space. Working with different breeds keeps things fun and interesting, and it’s so rewarding to connect with these amazing animals. Between movies, traveling, and our four-legged guests, I’m always finding new ways to stay inspired and balanced in life.
What are your top 3 favorite movies?
The entire Harry Potter series, The Girl Next Door, and Interstellar.
Have you had any travel experiences that have had a significant impact on you personally or creatively?
Burning Man has been a truly transformative travel experience for me both personally and creatively. The unique atmosphere, where art, music, and community seamlessly blend together, encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and explore my creative side in ways I never thought possible. The artistic installations and performances were incredibly inspiring, and I was constantly in awe of the creativity and ingenuity on display. Being surrounded by so many passionate and like-minded individuals fostered a sense of community and belonging that was unlike anything I’d ever experienced. Burning Man has left a lasting impression on me, shaping how I approach creativity and community. It’s an experience that continues to inspire me in my everyday life and fuels my ongoing artistic pursuits.
Could you tell us about some of your interests or hobbies outside of music?
Outside of music, I have a diverse range of interests and hobbies that keep me busy and inspired. One of my biggest passions is animals—I’ve been a proud pet owner for years, with a menagerie that’s included everything from ant farms to a West African Ball Python. I also have a love for physical activities, particularly boxing and sailing. There’s something invigorating about pushing my body to its limits through these sports. Boxing helps me stay fit and focused, while sailing allows me to connect with nature and explore the world from a different perspective.
Do you have any pets?
As an avid animal lover, I’ve shared my life with a diverse array of pets over the years. One particularly special companion has been my West African Ball Python named Nagini, who has been with me for an incredible 12 years. Beyond that, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for a variety of creatures, including ant farms, brine shrimp, and turtles. My affection for animals runs deep, and as a child, I even dreamed of becoming a veterinarian.
Are you into sports? Is there a team that you support?
Not really into watching sports as much but I do like FC Barcelona.
What’s your favorite food?
Japanese food by far.
Would you say you’re a morning person or a night owl?
Depends on the day; some days I am a morning bird, and other days I am a night creature. Lately, I find myself more of a night owl.
Can you tell us a fact about yourself that might surprise fans?
I have a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I can hold a handstand for a whole minute.
