Justice and Rockstar Games Announce the Epic Grand Theft Auto VI Original Score Album

The highly anticipated details for the Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score are officially here. While it was already confirmed that Rockstar Games had tapped Grammy-winning French electronic duo Justice for the monumental task, we now have a concrete timeline. The massive project will arrive on December 11 via Because Music, Ed Banger, and Rockstar Games.
Physical music collectors have a lot to look forward to. The release is highlighted by a sprawling 3xLP vinyl set, available in a limited crystal clear edition as well as standard black, alongside a 2xCD version. The sheer scale of the project is staggering. The physical editions boast 30 tracks, and when combined with the digital bonus material, the collection comprises a three-hour suite of original music directly from the game.
“The scope of the game is so large geographically and thematically that it was clear from the beginning the music would also have to be very broad in terms of emotions, genres, and textures,” states de Rosnay (Justice). “We were given the freedom to explore as many things as we needed to, musically speaking, as long as it made sense with the game.”
Working closely with Rockstar Games, Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay fine-tuned their signature sound to match the immersive world of Leonida. The dynamic score is designed to react constantly to the unique ways players explore the map and experience the unfolding story of protagonists Jason and Lucia.
Fans have already had a taste of the soundtrack with the massive lead single ‘Flower In a Hurricane (ft. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard)’. Today, the duo dropped a brand new preview with ‘Pusher’, an instrumental track that marks their first-ever collaboration with fellow French electronic pioneer Gesaffelstein.
Pre-orders for the vinyl, CD, and digital versions of the Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score are live right now ahead of its December 11 launch.
