Martin Garrix Switches It Up On Tove Lo Collaboration ‘Pressure’

Martin Garrix is back. Since the release of John Martin collaboration ‘Higher Ground’ back in May, we haven’t received a new single under his main alias. We have however been treated to releases under his underground alias Ytram and expect to see music from his AREA21 project very shortly.

Teaming up with Tove Lo for the first time, the pair release an incredible song, something not new for either of them. Tove Lo has experienced her fair share of dance music collaborations, from Alesso, Flume, Seven Lions to Alok – her vocals are always in high demand.

The track itself sees Garrix opt for a deeper and darker sound, something that he is yet to do under his Martin Garrix name, usually reserved for his Ytram alias. The song begins with an aggressive electronic sound that builds together with Tove Lo’s vocals into a drop that continues the killer melody felt throughout.

Diving into the credits, it appears that STMPD artist Osrin was involved in the production, which explains the deeper side of the track and also the result of recent images of the pair in the studio together.

The crew behind the song managed to keep it under wraps completely before release, something that is not so common these days. Thankfully this has occurred so that fans can experience this record for the first time today. While the track may not see the commercial attention as previous Garrix releases have, there is no denying the quality of this track and it has made the wait for new music from the Dutchman very much worth it.
