Roi Turbo Announce New EP ‘Bazooka’ + North American Tour with Empire of the Sun

London-based electronic duo Roi Turbo, the project of South African-born brothers Benjamin and Conor McCarthy, have announced their upcoming EP, Bazooka, set for release on April 25 via Maison Arts. Alongside the announcement, they have unveiled a new single, ‘Bobo Spirit’, offering a glimpse into their evolving sound.

Adding to the momentum, Roi Turbo will be hitting the road this spring, joining Empire of the Sun as a supporting act on their North American tour throughout April and May.

Their second EP, Bazooka, sees the duo weaving together influences from past and present, blending analog textures with digital experimentation. The project reflects their lifelong musical journey; shaped by growing up in Cape Town, self-taught instrumental skills, and a deep appreciation for rhythmic traditions spanning from William Onyeabor’s psychedelic modulations to South Africa’s ‘80s bubblegum pop and Nigerian disco.

By their early 20s, Conor and Ben had honed their complementary strengths—balancing band-driven sensibilities with electronic production—to develop a signature sound that fuses sonic exploration with dancefloor energy. Bazooka promises to showcase that synergy in full force as they gear up for an exciting year ahead.
