STBAN Brings Flamenco to the Club with New Single ‘LA PALMA’

STBAN blends tradition and rhythm with “LA PALMA,” a new single out via FLAMENCA Records and distributed by Toolroom. Built on the flamenco hand-clapping technique known as la palma, the track reinterprets one of music’s oldest percussive languages through a modern house framework.

Co-produced with Bryan Coletta (Sparrow & Barbossa) and featuring vocals from Spanish singer G.Zamora, the single is grounded in movement. Acoustic and electric guitars trade lines over a groove shaped by brass stabs, syncopated claps, and a bassline that sits just behind the beat. “It was a track that came together very, very fast,” Coletta said. “It matches the vibe of flamenco in its values.”

The official video was shot in Marrakech as a nod to flamenco’s Arabic roots. Locals were invited to wear headphones and dance freely in public spaces, a visual reminder of the form’s instinctive pull. “I didn’t want to show just Spain,” STBAN said. “Morocco and the Arabian countries are where the roots of flamenco come from.”

With Toolroom now powering the FLAMENCA label through distribution and label services, “LA PALMA” serves as a strong introduction to STBAN’s broader vision: celebrating culture through rhythm, and bridging heritage with electronic form.

The single is out June 20, with upcoming performances scheduled at Montreux Jazz Festival, AirBeat One, and a summer residency at MAD Club in Lausanne. It’s a promising entry point for what FLAMENCA aims to become.
