Where It Started: Whethan

“As you’ll see a lot of the songs that really influenced me growing up are electronic songs or have a lot of electronic elements in them.  Daft Punk was an essential here because they remain to this day one of the most influential artists in my life.  I also definitely owe a lot to Kanye West’s “Stronger” for helping me rediscover Daft Punk as a kid.  I also have some Alternative music on here because my new album takes influence from that genre.  “1901” by Phoenix is a great example of Alternative music that inspires me.  Plus my mom used to play it in the car all the time so it’s a classic for me.  But overall my musical taste growing up was pretty varied.  I was very particular about what I liked but it never really had anything to do with genre.  If I liked it, I liked it.”
