American Doubles Unveil Stunning ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ Video

A sweet slice of disco, a little shake of indie, all served up on a bed of electronica – and you’ve got American Doubles delicious new single “Just Can’t Get Enough.” Those key ingredients make this bouncy gem enjoyable for just about anyone, with Robert Smith’s soaring falsetto taking over the chorus while the RAC-esque punchy percussion drives the rest home.

But the lighthearted vibe takes on a darker twist within the stunning video, shot all in one take in a warehouse in Sydney, Australia. Unfolding like a blockbuster action-thriller compressed into 3 minutes, the “Just Can’t Get Enough” video takes the song to compelling new heights while reminding us of American Doubles sharp visual aesthetic. This gorgeous style was also seen in their previous video “Can’t Let Go (feat. JVMIE),” shot in one continuous take at the heritage-listed Rose Siedler House in Sydney. The video received “Clip of the Day” on Clipped.tv as well as qualifying as a finalist in the Gold Coast Music Awards.

American Doubles explains the song and videos origins: “I’m describing a passionate affair with a girl that I know is no good for me, but enjoying it too much to stop. You can come up with your own interpretation of what it (the video) is… ‘Reservoir Dogs’ Quentin Tarantino’s film, is the obvious inspiration, hiding out in a warehouse with me being sat in a chair by my captors, chastised and tortured before almost having my ear sliced off with a knife.”

Melbourne-based American Doubles debuted in 2017 with the release of their single “The Swell,” which received positive reviews from Triple J Radio staff and was aired on radio stations across Australia. The accompanying music video was premiered online via Music Feeds and live at the National Film & Sound Archive of Australia (alongside Radiohead’s “Daydreaming” video.) American Doubles has found phenomenal chemistry with multi-Platinum Award-winning producer Jimi Maroudas (Kimbra, Tim Rogers, The Avalanches) and multi-Grammy Award-winning producer Chris ’TEK’ O’Ryan (Rihanna, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd) who executive produced and mixed respectively both “Just Can’t Get Enough” and “Can’t Let Go.” Together, they’ve found the sweet spot for American Doubles sound, and the accompanying videos shine a light on their fantastic visual aesthetic.
