Primavera Sound Unveils Monumental Line-up for its 25th Anniversary Edition

Barcelona’s iconic Primavera Sound has officially announced the line-up for its 25th anniversary edition, promising a sprawling celebration of contemporary music. Scheduled to take place from the 2nd to the 6th of June 2027, the festival will once again transform the Parc del Fòrum into a global music hub. The main programme will run from the 3rd to the 5th of June, bookended by a free opening day and a massive electronic closing party dubbed Primavera Bits.

The newly released press material confirms a star-studded roster led by Doechii, Phoebe Bridgers, Fontaines D.C., Hayley Williams, FKA twigs, and Turnstile. A major highlight of the announcement is the inclusion of Massive Attack. The legendary British group will finally make their Primavera Sound debut, returning to the bill after their highly anticipated 2026 set was cancelled due to severe weather conditions. Bad Gyal, whose performance was similarly affected last year, is also set to make a triumphant return. The line-up further boasts heavyweights like The Chemical Brothers, Robyn, Caroline Polachek, and a special back-to-back closing set from Skrillex and Ninajirachi.

For a quarter of a century, Primavera Sound has defined itself as a multi-genre urban festival built on range and musical diversity. Unlike traditional field festivals with remote campsites, Primavera is woven directly into the fabric of Barcelona. Stages sit on concrete plazas and seafront spaces by the Mediterranean, allowing fans to experience everything from pop and hip-hop to ambient noise and techno within a few steps. The festival is renowned for creating an environment where an experimental live act can share the night with a chart-topping pop headliner.

The scale of the 2027 edition stands in stark contrast to the festival’s modest origins. Primavera Sound began in 2001 as a one-day indie rock gathering at Poble Espanyol, selling roughly 7,700 tickets. By 2005, the event had expanded and relocated to the Parc del Fòrum to accommodate its rapid growth. Over the past two decades, it has evolved past its indie roots to become a cultural behemoth. Past iterations have seen everything from a dual-weekend marathon model following pandemic cancellations to historic performances by the likes of Radiohead, Pixies, and Rosalía.

Tickets for the 25th anniversary event will be available starting the 8th of October, with organisers expecting a massive turnout for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of sound and history.
