The Worlds Of Rock & House Meet In black a.m.’s ‘Please Don’t Go’

One of several factors that makes black a.m. different is his use of live guitar that he brings into his shows and into his music. It’s an aspect that no one is doing within the electronic music scene quite like black a.m. does. black a.m. has been featured on CULTR many times, yet his September 2021 release is one of his most well-blended to date when it comes to bring the world of rock (through electric guitar) and house together.

“Please Don’t Go,” comes in two versions, an original edit and extended edit. They both have strengths they bring to the table that make them unique, but it’s the extended edit that showcases even more vision when it comes to the hybrid direction black a.m. embraces. “Please Don’t Go,” thumps forward with a 128 BPM framework and poppy house instrumentation. All instrumental, the beat truly does the talking here. Pads slide in that give the floor to the live electric guitar work. When the moment hits, the mood shifts and a more spiritual feel takes over. The dichotomy between the upbeat and reflective moods gives the track’s more power and stickiness.

black a.m. has ‘done it all’ in his many years in music. From being the go-to live guitarist for MGK years back, to being selected to play Insomniac’s ‘Park N Rave’ event during the high of the 2020 pandemic saga, to being picked up by Prodigy Artists (manages Slander, NGHTMRE, and many others.) He makes the most of of the opportunities which are in front of him and earns bigger ones over time.

With many of releases inching toward the 100,000 streams mark and boasting a sound of his own, black a.m. is one to watch out for for a multitude of reasons.
