Icelandic Duo CYBER Returns with Brilliant New Single ‘I Don’t Wanna Walk This Earth’

celandic duo CYBER, composed of Jóhanna Rakel and Salka Valsdóttir, release their latest single “I Don’t Wanna Walk This Earth,” a hybrid of hyper-pop and electronic influences. The song explores themes of delusion and self-confidence, encapsulating the emotional rollercoaster of a prom night gone awry. It features vocals from Tatjana Dís of ex.girls and follows their provocative track “Porn Star.” This new release builds on CYBER’s reputation as forward-thinking Icelandic artists, showcasing their distinctive Y2K pop flair and setting the stage for their burgeoning international career.
Since their inception in 2016, Jóhanna and Salka have been integral to the Icelandic music scene. They began their collaboration within the female and gender non-binary rap group Daughters of Reykjavík, known for its performances and bold lyrics. Jóhanna, also known as STEPMOM, brings a background in visual arts to CYBER, enhancing their music videos and stage designs, while Salka, under the moniker neonme, contributes her expertise in audio engineering and sound design. Their diverse skills fuel CYBER’s evolution into a unqiue force in avant-pop and conceptual electronic, confirming their status artists that are one to watch.
