Melbourne DJ and producer Dean Turnley has officially released his high energy single ‘Actin’ Tough’ through CHAOS in collaboration with HOME//GRXWN. Following months of intense speculation and ID requests across social media, the track is now available to the public. Built specifically for the festival circuit, the record combines a rolling progressive foundation with euphoric layered synths. The defining feature is a 90s inspired spoken word vocal that adds a nostalgic edge to the driving modern production.
Dean Turnley explains, “I made the track on 404 sampler back in December and it’s been crazy watching the responses as the track was getting its first spins. Excited for it to be out there!”
The journey of ‘Actin’ Tough’ began as a grassroots success story within the Melbourne electronic scene. Initially championed by Turnley alongside his Not Without Friends collaborators Jordan Brando, William Kiss, and Luke Alessi, the track quickly moved beyond its local roots. What started as a secret weapon in Victorian clubs soon caught the attention of the international elite. The track has earned massive heavyweight support from a diverse range of global tastemakers including Peggy Gou, Chris Lake, Interplanetary Criminal, Special Request, Ewan McVicar, Rossi., and KILIMANJARO. With its blend of classic club nostalgia and contemporary peak time energy, ‘Actin’ Tough’ is positioned to be a definitive anthem for the upcoming summer season.
