NIKI Sets Release Date For ‘Moonchild’ Album Along With New Single ‘Lose’

Indonesia’s NIKI has just revealed ‘Lose’, the third and final single from ‘Moonchild’ a concept album that will feature 10 tracks in all, and explores her journey through three lunar phases – crescent moon (innocence, curiosity, embarking), half-moon/eclipse (loss of hope, disillusionment) and full moon (self-discovery, strength). ‘Lose’ arrives accompanied by another dreamy video and adds to the previously released ‘Selene’ and ‘Switchblade’.

Further diving into a celestial exploration which underpins the story-telling on ‘Moonchild’, NIKI’s “Lose” recounts her difficult relationship with her creator, the Moon. Sonically, it’s yet another demonstration of her diverse skills and enormous talent.

‘Lose’ is an emotional ballad detailing the inner turmoil that follows when one hits a tipping point in a tumultuous relationship. NIKI says of the song in a the official release, “We did it in one take, just me and the piano in a room. Here we see Moonchild speaking to her guardian, The Moon, in a vulnerable moment of betrayal.”

Moonchild is a 10-song concept album that will be released via 88 Rising and 12 Tone music on September 10th.
