Review: An Unforgettable Ibizan Dining Experience at Elia

Carving out its place as a must-visit destination, Elia has officially arrived at Destino Five Ibiza. This brand-new restaurant, perched majestically above Talamanca Bay, redefines the island dinner with its signature ‘vibe-dining’ concept. Here, the culinary focus is a sophisticated journey through Greece and the Mediterranean, where classic Hellenic recipes are reimagined with contemporary flair and local Spanish ingredients. You aren’t just going for dinner; you’re stepping into an atmosphere of bohemian luxury, where a vibrant energy is fueled by a live DJ and the impossibly romantic backdrop of the moonlit bay.

The setting itself is a highlight. Perched over the bay with a breathtaking view, it is both lively and romantic. A DJ soundtracks the evening perfectly, playing music that enhances the scene without ever overwhelming it. The open kitchen adds another layer of excitement, allowing you to feel the dynamic energy of the culinary team at work.

Service was exceptional from start to finish. Attentive staff were always nearby, and every need was met promptly and with a smile, making the entire experience feel seamless and personal.

The true star of the show, however, was the food. Each dish was a work of art, with a presentation as impressive as its taste. We started with the Greek Mezze Tray, an exploration of vibrant dips served with warm pita that showcased the best of Greek-Mediterranean fusion. The Yellowfin Tuna Tartare was incredibly fresh, exploding with zesty flavour from lime, shallots, avocado, and macadamia nuts. For mains, the Crispy Calamari was impeccable, boasting a delicate, brittle texture that was utterly perfect.

A meal in Spain wouldn’t be complete without the Iberico Cheeks “Stifado”; rich and deeply flavourful, it was served over flawless mashed potatoes and caramelised onions. We left every plate spotless—a testament to how delicious each dish was. The cocktails were just as memorable, with the Lychee Mule and the Mezcal-based Inti providing creative and refreshing accompaniments.

At Elia, the food is the main event, which is saying a lot given the breathtaking scenery and impeccable service. It delivers on all fronts, providing a truly top-tier dining experience.
