Review: Solomun +1 Stuns At Pacha Ibiza With Skrillex

The Solomun +1 residency at Pacha Ibiza remains an absolute institution in the island’s clubbing landscape. Built around a simple concept, the Diynamic label boss invites just one carefully curated guest – who plays their own set, followed by Solomun himself, then ending with the guest and Solomun playing back to back.
Locking in Skrillex for a date in Ibiza is a genuine rarity these days, making his appearance alongside Solomun one of the most anticipated events of the summer season. The American talent did not disappoint, effortlessly adapting his eclectic, high-energy style to match the deeper, driving house and techno foundations of the night. Seeing him control the room alongside Solomun was a prime example of perfect chemistry.
In an era where massive LED walls and relentless pyro often completely overshadow the actual performance, this show was a refreshing reminder of what clubbing is supposed to be about. The entire night prioritised high-quality music delivered through Pacha’s pristine, custom sound system. Without the distraction of over-the-top visuals and explosions, the focus returned entirely to track selection and the art of the mix. This stripped-back approach paid off massively, cultivating an incredible atmosphere where the crowd was completely locked into the booth rather than staring blankly at a screen. The dance floor was packed with actual music lovers who were entirely there for the sonic journey, allowing every crisp high and deep bassline to hit with absolute acoustic precision. It proved that top-tier audio trumps special effects every single time.
Navigating the main room at times was not easy, but the stellar quality of the music ensured that the energy remained electric despite the tight squeeze.
