Wax Motif Releases Diddy Collab ‘Divided Souls’ & Launches His Own Label

US based Australian Wax Motif aka Danny Chien has today linked up with iconic rap legend, Diddy for what could be the club track of the year, “Divided Souls”. The song also marks the debut of Wax Motif’s brand new label of the same name, Divided Souls Records.

The is certainly one epic way to launch a label, the addictive tech-house banger features Diddy’s vocals giving props to DJ’s to “play that 20-minute version” for those who appreciate the journey of a track – rather than being a “crowd-pleaser.” and we can see this becoming a fan favourite amongst industry tastemakers and fans.

“It’s a huge honor to be able to debut my label with a release from myself and Diddy,” explains Wax Motif. “Diddy is legendary to me – I probably watched the ‘Bad Boys for Life’ and ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ videos a million times growing up. I feel the whole message behind the ‘Divided Souls’ lyrics resonates with me and the dance music scene. The line where Diddy mentions ‘divided souls’ really stuck out to me and I couldn’t get the phrase out of my head, so I decided to call the track and the label by the same name. I’m excited to debut my label and to share a vision for myself and for new artists.”

If you have not been blessed by the infectious grooves of Wax Motifs music yet, today is a good day for you my friend. He’s regarded as a major orchestrator in the G-House sound however he’s already shown his versatility and with musical influences like R&B, disco and U.K. bass we are excited to hear the boundaries he takes his music to now that he’s got his own platform.

Wax Motif has released tracks on a variety of labels including Diplo’s Mad Decent, Tchami’s Confession label, A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold, Tiesto’s Musical Freedom and Zed’s Dead’s Deadbeats, just to name a few. The producer and DJ has expanded his arsenal with production cuts on songs with G-Eazy, Gashi, Blackbear and more.

Divided Souls Records is Wax Motif’s new imprint, with the lead single for the imprint of the same name, “Divided Souls.” The name represents the tale behind Wax Motif’s brand and artist craft. The “division” is around production skill-set, from house music, electronica, beats for pop and hip hop. The “soul” is the passion that Wax puts behind his production and artist creativity. More releases from Wax Motif and the roster of artists he supports are forthcoming on Divided Souls Records.
