CatParty Drills Into Intriguing Sonic Territories with New Single ‘Frack’

Denver’s CatParty taps into a slow-burning, groove-heavy pocket with “Frack”–a smoky 90 BPM cut landing on Grand Alliance Music Vol. 2: MAIORA. The track rides a thick electro-soul current, stitched together with warm synth textures, clean low-end, and a standout guitar performance from T.Evans. Lush yet gritty, feeling equally suited for headphone deep-dives and late-night venue sets.
Beneath the gloss of crisp production, “Frack” carries that familiar CatParty texture–analog warmth laced with subtle distortion and melodic intention. The track’s inclusion in MAIORA, the latest from Grand Alliance Music (helmed by Willdabeast and Mr. Buttonz), cements it in a circle of forward-thinking electronic creators operating on their own wavelength.
“‘Stoked to have this one out into the world. Shouts to my mans T.Evans on guitar,’” – CatParty
Nick Melillo, the name behind the alias, has long been active in Colorado’s bass circuit. His sound walks the line between soulful and subterranean–fluid enough to fit next to trip-hop, funk, or low-end beat sets, but structured enough to hold a floor. Festival appearances at Okeechobee, Hulaween, and Sonic Bloom have helped shape his performance identity, while recent bookings include a Pretty Lights pre-party and opening for Daily Bread at Mission Ballroom.
Returning to Cervantes Masterpiece, CatParty now joins a stacked bill alongside Common Creation, Bass Temple, and BRZE for an event rooted in the community that built him.
“Bringing it back to the homebase with the absolute homie Common Creation.”
“Chris has been a huge inspiration to me and has been killing it with his unique psychedelic bass sound.”
– Melillo
With “Frack,” CatParty offers a textured cut built on mood and momentum – proof that groove can run deep without ever shouting for attention.
