‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 – Release Date & Trailer Revealed

Marvel Television has released the first official trailer, key art and production stills for the highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s grittiest street-level drama will stream exclusively on Disney+ beginning March 25. Across eight episodes, the series promises a collision of survival, resistance and redemption as the battle for the soul of New York begins anew.

Created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord and Matt Corman, the series sees the return of Charlie Cox as the titular masked vigilante Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. Returning to the series are Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter (Bullseye) and Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn. This season also marks the long-awaited return of Krysten Ritter as fan-favourite Jessica Jones. While initial rumours suggested a brief appearance, reports indicate her role will be substantial, with Ritter involved in key action sequences alongside Murdock as they mobilise against the city’s corrupt leadership.

The trailer also introduces Matthew Lillard as the mysterious Mr. Charles. Lillard’s character is described as an international power player who serves as a new antagonist to Fisk, challenging the Kingpin’s authority on a global political stage rather than physically fighting in the streets. Further casting information indicates that Lili Taylor has joined the ensemble as New York Governor Marge McCaffrey, a political rival to Fisk, while Camila Rodriguez will appear as Angela Del Toro.

In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk has crushed New York City under his heel as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil. Fisk has reportedly established an ‘Anti-Vigilante Task Force’ to legitimise his crusade, squeezing the city’s heroes from every angle. However, Fisk faces pressure from all sides; while he attempts to solidify his rule, he is being manoeuvred by international forces represented by Mr. Charles.

Beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock attempts to fight back from the shadows to dismantle the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. The season’s tagline ‘Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.’ hints at a more organised resistance than in previous chapters, with Murdock seemingly building a coalition to counter Fisk’s unlimited resources. The new footage, set to the track ‘Lithonia’ by Childish Gambino, emphasises the sensory overload of Murdock’s world. It features glimpses of a new ‘Shadowlands’ inspired suit for Daredevil, characterised by a darker, red-and-black aesthetic, and teases the physical toll the war for New York is taking on its protector.
