As far as producers go, Scott Storch is undoubtedly one of the biggest hitmakers in the game – in fact, we recently featured him in our list of the biggest producers in past the decade. He started out as part of The Roots before becoming one of Hip-Hop’s most prolific producers, on par with the likes of Kanye West and Pharrel at his peak. He’s credited with iconic hits for the likes of Dre.Dre, 50 Cent, Mario and has won a whopping 8 Grammy’s. While he has been a secret weapon for the biggest artists in the game, in the current day it’s become more common for producers to step into the spotlight as an artist themselves, and today Scott Storch does exactly that with ‘Fuego Del Calor’.
In the late 2000s Scott Storch almost disappeared due to personal struggles that he documented in a special documentary, however in the past few years he has come back with a vengeance and proved everyone wrong. Since his return, he has been credited with producing with the likes of Russ, 6ix9ine, Trippie Redd, Swae Lee, Roddy Ricch and Tory Lanez. Today however he’s come out of his shell releasing his first-ever Hip-Hop song as the main artist. It’s a Spanish reggaeton flavoured bop, and he’s recruited none other than Tyga and Ozuna for the features.
Titled ‘Fuego Del Calor’ which roughly translates as Hot Fire, Storch has produced an infectiously catchy Spanish infused tune that will no doubt have listeners vibing while they isolate. He recruits Porto Rican icon Ozuna, who’s silky voice has featured on global smashes like DJ Snake’s Taki Taki’ and Black Eyes Peas latest offering ‘MAMACITA’ and has become the go-to choice for those looking to cause a stir in the Spanish speaking world. Further, on the record Tyga, who comes off the back of features for Famous Dex, Curtis Roach and Kygo meanwhile adds to the mix laying down a catchy verse that’ll get you hooked a little more.
The release is out now via Atlantic Records, listen below. You can also book Scott Storch here.
