Splice Unveils ‘Splice Create’ DAW to Streamline Music Production

Music creation platform Splice has announced the beta launch of Splice Create. This new digital music studio is designed to assist producers of all skill levels in transforming their ideas into finished tracks while simultaneously building their production abilities.

Built upon the extensive Splice catalogue of over three million fully licensed and human-made samples, the platform introduces an agentic workflow. Users can control the software using voice or text commands. Natural language prompts allow musicians to group drums, apply effects, and bypass repetitive administrative tasks that often disrupt the creative flow. Artists maintain full ownership of any original music they produce on the platform.

A standout educational feature is Point Mode. When enabled, an interactive guide navigates the user interface to teach new production techniques step by step. Splice Create also integrates seamlessly with the company’s royalty-free library, high-quality virtual instruments from Splice INSTRUMENT, and native VSTs. Creators also have the option to export audio for use in other Digital Audio Workstations. The company notes that all AI features within Create adhere to its established ethical guidelines and principles.

“Most music tools either make the song for you, or assume you already know how to do everything. Create is different – it’s a music creation studio that helps you make the music you want,” said Kakul Srivastava, Splice CEO. “We’re clearing a path so that anyone who has felt the pull to make music, but has felt blocked by the process, can get started and share their unique stories with the world through song.”

“I’d been messing with ‘Innocent Smile’ for years, added a break beat from Splice, and it came alive. Create gives people just starting out that same feeling, and you pick up how it works as you go,” said Grammy-nominated MC and producer Skepta, who won the Mercury Prize with an album he released on his own label. “Big up Splice, always there to cook with, even on my way to Ibiza at 30,000 feet.”

Splice Create is currently available in beta as a Mac application and is free for users to get started. Those ready to share their completed songs can sign up for a Create Pro subscription, which is currently offered at an introductory price of $9.99 USD per month via the official Splice website.
