The Future Is Here: RCRDSHP Is Electronic Dance Music’s New Digital Collectibles Platform

Arguably making up the most exciting digital collectibles marketplace we’ve seen this year, RCRDSHP (pronounced “record shop”) has just launched on August 17th, 2021, and is already looking like an incredibly promising endeavour. Taking full advantage of cutting-edge tech like blockchain technologies and NFTs, RCRDSHP is set out to be a gamified space where electronic dance music can thrive, allowing fans to connect with their favourite artists, and producers/DJs to make a living off of their forward-thinking art.

Over the past year we’ve seen the launch of a number of similar NFT-focused platforms, yet RCRDSHP is undoubtedly much more than just a digital collectibles marketplace. Ran by a dedicated team of DJs and producers, it sets out to be an artist-centric platform, as co-founder and CEO Obie Fernandez explains. “The key differentiator between us and others is that our heart is in the right place: with the music and the people who make it. We are all serious DJs and music producers here at RCRDSHP, and we want to give our fellow musicians more sustainable ways to make a living via new and exciting technology,” he says in a press statement.

Alongside its launch, RCRDSHP has just dropped its first GENESIS packs, covering the full range of electronic music style and genres, while offering collectibles from legendary DJs and producers, iconic labels, and major festivals across the globe. Mark Knight (Toolroom Records UK), Sharam Jey (Bunnytiger Records DE), Vassy (17 platinum certifications), Solarstone (Pure Trance UK), acclaimed labels Mobilee Records (Berlin), Deeperfect (Florence), Iboga (Copenhagen), Black Hole Recordings (NL) and premium electronic events like Transmission Festival are just some of the names that are set to release exclusive digital drops on RCRDSHP.

“We’ve spent months partnering exclusively with dozens of the world’s most credible artists, labels and event brands from the worldwide electronic dance music scene”, explains co-founder and CCO Eric Reithler-Barros. The veteran global dance music executive continues: “We really want to feature all layers of the electronic dance music world, from shiny mainstream to deep dark underground, from trance to techno to bass to d&b, from exclusive tracks to limited-edition sample packs and DJ cards.”

There is no doubt that RCRDSHP is a truly exciting and fresh endeavour. Bringing together the worlds of electronic dance music, gaming and collectibles, all with the help of NFTs and blockchain technologies, RCRDSHP it is definitely set for a bright future within the scene, and we couldn’t be more excited to check out its first drops.
