Aulart to Launch ‘Track Quest’, the First Board Game Dedicated to Electronic Music History

Aulart, the Barcelona-based music education platform, is preparing for the upcoming launch of a Kickstarter campaign for “Track Quest”, a new board game designed to turn the history of electronic music into a competitive social experience.

Billed as the first tabletop game of its kind, “Track Quest” explores nearly 60 years of musical evolution. The game guides players through the foundations of the genre in the 1970s, highlighting the influence of disco and krautrock, before moving through the rise of house and techno and into modern iterations like hyperpop, IDM, and Afro-house.

The core gameplay centres on a chronological challenge where participants listen to audio clips and must correctly place tracks and milestones along a timeline. To keep the experience dynamic, “Track Quest” incorporates several sabotage mechanics. Players can disrupt their rivals by muting hints, stealing cards, or triggering panic timers to pressure opponents into making mistakes.

“The goal was to create a game that celebrates the culture we love while being genuinely fun to play,” said Marc Marzenit, CEO of Aulart. The project has been under development for several years and was tested alongside industry professionals to ensure it appeals to both casual listeners and dedicated music historians.

A standout feature of the project is its modular design. In addition to the core trivia and timeline mechanics, the game includes 200 expansion cards. These allow groups to customise their sessions by focusing on specific sub-genres, such as drum and bass, trance, or dubstep, effectively building a custom playlist for every game night.

The Kickstarter campaign is expected to go live in the near future. Interested fans can currently sign up for updates on the landing page of the project to be notified as soon as the campaign officially begins and tier details are revealed.
