Boiler Room, the trailblazing electronic music live-streaming and event platform, has been acquired by Superstruct Entertainment, a multinational live events giant, for an undisclosed sum. This marks another major milestone for Boiler Room, which has become a cultural cornerstone in electronic music since its humble beginnings in 2010.
Superstruct, known for owning an impressive portfolio of over 80 festival brands across Europe and Australia—including Creamfields, Sonar, Mysteryland, and Sziget—plans to leverage its global expertise and resources to support Boiler Room’s continued growth. Despite the acquisition, Boiler Room’s UK-based team will retain leadership of the platform, preserving the identity and authenticity that have defined its success.
Boiler Room’s founder, Blaise Bellville, expressed excitement about the partnership in a statement, noting that Superstruct’s roster of world-class festivals aligns with Boiler Room’s mission. “We feel in good company with their roster of brands. They offer us new opportunities to grow, whilst understanding the importance of staying true to the authenticity that, at its core, is what makes Boiler Room special,” Bellville said.
This acquisition comes after Boiler Room was purchased in 2021 by ticketing platform DICE, which will remain its official ticketing partner under the new agreement. DICE founder Phil Hutcheon reflected on the past three years, describing Boiler Room as an “incredible brand” that has delivered “cultural-defining moments time and time again.”
Boiler Room has come a long way since its inception, which started with a webcam taped to a wall in a small London room, providing a keyhole into the city’s underground music scene. Over the past 15 years, it has evolved into a global powerhouse, hosting over 8,000 performances by more than 5,000 artists in 200 cities and reaching millions of fans worldwide.
Superstruct’s CEO, Roderik Schlösser, praised Boiler Room’s ability to grow while maintaining a distinct cultural identity. “We are proud to welcome the talented team at Boiler Room, who have managed to consistently grow the platform over the last fifteen years whilst maintaining a distinct cultural approach,” he said.
The acquisition also coincides with Superstruct’s own evolution as a major player in the global events space. In 2023, the company was acquired by investment firm KKR for a reported €1.3 billion ($1.39 billion), signaling its ambitious plans to expand its influence in live music and entertainment.
As Boiler Room enters this new chapter, it is poised to expand its footprint further through brand partnerships, ticketed events, and merchandise while continuing to champion underground music culture. Fans can expect the platform to stay true to its roots, even as it taps into the vast resources of Superstruct’s global network.
