Xbox are set to take the stage at the Tokyo Game Show, which would be the perfect place to announce the 2026 game. The ad mentions the Horizon Festival is heading to Japan. Companies will set up their ads before announcements, but it seems the Forza Horizon account has accidentally set its ads to go live early.

This follows previous rumours and reports that the game will be in Japan. For many, Japan is the dream location for a Forza Horizon game. The setting promises an incredibly diverse map, from the neon-drenched, skyscraper-lined streets of a Tokyo-inspired metropolis to the treacherous, winding touge mountain passes famous for birthing drift culture.
This new location allows the series to lean heavily into Japan’s legendary car culture. Players can expect a huge focus on JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) icons, celebrating legendary manufacturers like Nissan, Toyota, Honda, and Mazda.
The Horizon Festival has a rich history of transforming stunning real-world locations into automotive playgrounds. The series first kicked off amidst the rugged mountains and open roads of Colorado, USA, establishing its unique blend of music and car culture. From there, the festival went international, exploring the sun-drenched coasts and scenic countryside of Southern Europe in its second instalment. Its third stop brought the action Down Under to the diverse biomes of Australia, from the dusty Outback to lush rainforests. The festival then moved to the historic, rolling hills of the United Kingdom, famously introducing dynamic seasons that transformed the landscape. Most recently, players explored the vibrant and expansive map of Mexico, the series’ largest and most geographically varied location to date.
