Fred Again.. has released ten days, a deeply personal 10-track album that captures meaningful moments from his life over the past year. Each track is inspired by a specific day, blending ambient techno, gentle vocals, and euphoric melodies. Known for transforming intimate experiences into universal soundscapes, Fred’s latest release invites listeners to slow down and connect with life’s quieter moments.
Featuring collaborations with Skrillex, Anderson .Paak, Four Tet, and Obongjayar, ten days combines diverse sonic textures with Fred’s signature emotive style. Standout tracks like ‘adore u’ and ‘places to be’ are emotional journeys that highlight both the joy and melancholy of everyday life. The album’s minimalist production is complemented by hushed vocal samples and delicate instrumentals, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of Aphex Twin and Bicep, yet distinctly Fred. The blend of upbeat and reflective tracks offers listeners a balance of introspective calm and energizing rhythms, reflecting both the personal and communal aspects of the album’s creation, which whilst important to have in a project like this, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an exciting song.
Throughout the 10-track album, each track has its own interlude, resulting in a 20-piece tracklisting – which may throw off album listeners. Outside of the three already released singles, which have been well received, the album does not provide much more goodness, even a four-way collaboration with talents Duskus, Skrillex and Four Tet can’t save it. ‘ten days’ is simply lacklustre and is not what we’ve come to expect from Fred again.. Whilst the album takes you on a journey, that journey does not have a lot of peaks. With so many eyes on him since his rapid rise, it will be interesting to see the reception of this LP, when it’s properly digested by fans and the wider community.
