In a crossover that has thrilled both NBA and gaming fans, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Dončić has officially teamed up with Blizzard’s popular shooter, Overwatch. This exciting collaboration brings the basketball phenom’s iconic style directly into the game.
Luka is a huge player of Overwatch 2 and has achieved Grandmaster status in the game. Since the launch of the new Stadium Mode earlier this year, he’s been sharpening his skills and reached a Top 500 ranking in North America, showing he’s an elite player not only on the court but the Overwatch stadiums as well.
The centrepiece is the new “Luka Legend” skin for the hero Roadhog. This skin transforms the formidable tank with the Lakers’ iconic purple and gold colours, complete with Dončić’s number 77. Roadhog’s scrap gun is cleverly redesigned as a basketball hoop, and his chain hook now resembles a basketball on a chain. Adding a truly personal touch, the skin features unique voice lines recorded by Luka himself.
“Many have seen how competitive I am on the basketball court, but you may not know that I’m just as competitive when I’m playing Overwatch,” said Luka Dončić “I love this game, and am excited about this partnership. It’s special to be in the game in a way that other players can be part of.”
Beyond the skin, the collaboration includes a new “Doncic’s Dime” highlight intro, where Roadhog mimics one of Luka’s famous no-look passes with his hook. A limited-edition merchandise line has also been released, with a portion of all proceeds being donated to a charity chosen by Doncic.
