The gates of Bayfront Park have officially swung open, marking the commencement of another monumental weekend for electronic dance music. Day one of Ultra Miami 2026 delivered a masterclass in high-stakes performances across the stages. From drum and bass takeovers to legendary progressive house pairings, the energy across the grounds was incredible for the Miami Music Week centrepiece.
Alesso B2B Martin Garrix
The two progressive house legends united for an incredible back-to-back that showcased their seamless individual successes. While there was no new Martin Garrix music, the set was bolstered by a few notable Alesso IDs that kept the mainstage crowd guessing.
BRZP B2B Skrillex
BRZP bringing Skrillex out was a moment of unmatched intensity. While the appearance was heavily implied leading up to the set, it remained unconfirmed until he finally appeared on stage. The energy shifted instantly, with the crowd erupting for what became a standout, high-octane surprise B2B.
WORSHIP
The formidable four-way project between 1991, Sub Focus, Dimension, and Culture Shock made a triumphant debut at Ultra Miami. Their drum and bass set served as a brilliant showcase of the genre, successfully connecting with a massive audience that may not have otherwise experienced the depth of the current DnB movement.
Armin van Buuren B2B Marlon Hoffstadt
Armin and Marlon united once again for a B2B set during the ASOT takeover of the Worldwide stage. By expertly blending their respective styles, they created an unforgettable, high-energy performance that bridged the gap between trance legacy and contemporary techno influence.
Eric Prydz
Eric Prydz delivered what may be one of his finest performances. Spanning two full hours, the set was spectacular from start to finish, weaving together timeless classics with fresh IDs and intricate mashups that reminded everyone why he remains a titan of the scene.
Major Lazer
In a sharp contrast to the day’s highs, Major Lazer delivered a closing set that unfortunately served as the evening’s primary low point. Following the electric momentum of Alesso and Martin Garrix, the group struggled to maintain the atmosphere with a selection of average tracks and uninspired visuals. The energy remained noticeably flat, and the crowd reaction was underwhelming as the group failed to find their footing. It was a disappointing finish to an otherwise stellar first day, leaving the mainstage on a bit of a downer.
