After a long wait, StayC has finally made their official debut. The stunning girl group was formed by Black Eyed Pilseung, a famous music producer in South Korea. Now they have released their 1st EP album “Star To A Young Culture” which is lead by the single “So Bad.”
StayC is under High Up Entertainment and since being introduced as a trainee, they have been able to attract the attention of the public in the masses. One of the reasons they are on everybody’s radar is because one of the members is also a young actress who has appeared in various Korean dramas, Her name Park Si-eun.
She even won Best Young Actress at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards thanks to her role as the young version of Woo Se-ri (the main lead) in Still 17. In addition, success and music are apparently running in her veins as it’s reported that Park Si-eun is also a former JYP Entertainment trainee and she is the daughter of legendary singer Park Nam-jung.
Not only that, the fact that the StayC’s songs are produced by Black Eyed Pilseung also made netizens curious. Black Eyed Pilseung is the producer behind many K-pop hit songs such as Sistar’s “Touch My Body“, “I Like That“, “Lonely“; Twice’s “Like Ooh-Ah“, “Cheer up“, “TT“, “Likey“, “Fancy“; Chungha’s “Roller Coaster“, “Gotta Go“, and many more. Seeing the discography that are almost always hits, it’s no wonder netizens are curious about what StayC’s debut.
“So Bad” is a song that expresses the feelings of someone who really likes the person who has stolen her heart, and hopes that person will accept her feelings. This song itself has a genre that combines drum & bass and synth-wave. The lyrics of this song are also very catchy and can make people who listen to it getting more excited.
Along with the release, StayC released their first Music Video for “So Bad” and their debut stage on November 13th on KBS’s Music Program Music Bank. Their debut was greeted enthusiastically by fans. Since the first day of release, StayC has managed to break the first day debut sales record by selling more than 4,300 copies. The launch has been a great success as they managed to get 2.6 million views, 104 thousand likes, and became Trending no. 11 on Youtube South Korea in just 24 hours. In addition, StayC also managed to get more than 30 thousand streams and more than 10 thousand unique listeners on the Genie site.
