Kygo’s Third Album ‘Golden Hour’ Is Out Now + Livestream Festival Details

Kygo has today dropped his third album, titled ‘Golden Hour’. The Norwegian artist teased the album for a few months with a number of album singles.

On his social media pages, Kygo explained that due to the COVID-19 pandemic he’s had more time to work on music since most of the world is stuck inside.

With heavy hitters such as OneRepublic, Zara Larsson and Whitney Houston on the album, the collection features some incredible talent.

The journey from track 1 to 18 brings a summer, feel good vibe, yet this is nothing new to Kygo’s music. It’s not easy finding a bad track throughout ‘Golden Hour’, with each track containing its own positives. Each record sounds distinctively Kygo, yet each record still has individual elements.

Kygo has evolved his sound from the tropical house era to a more refined sound that traverses both dance music and the commercial space. ‘Golden Hour’ is set to make waves on both fronts.

Upon the release of the album, Kygo said, “Golden Hour is finally out guys 😭 feels surreal dropping all these songs. I’ve been working so hard on this album the last 2 years and I’m so happy and proud of each and every song. The album consists of 18 songs and exactly 1 hour of music. Thank you to all the insanely talented artists I’ve had the chance to work with on this record; hopefully we’ll get the chance to play these songs together live someday soon. And a huge thank you to all my fans who have been supporting me the last couple of years. I hope you enjoy this album as much as I did making it ♥

Accompanying the release, Kygo has announced a live stream festival, falling under the same name as the album.

In addition to electro-pop favorites Alan Walker and Chelsea Cutler, Kygo refreshingly stepped outside the lines of EDM when he fleshed out the lineup for Golden Hour Festival. Also joining him are Zac Brown of Grammy Award-winning country-rock outfit Zac Brown Band, legendary singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, and Golden Hour collaborators OneRepublic, among others.

The event will also include a guided meditation, presented in honour of Mental Health Awareness month and, delightfully, a magic show. Lauded tattoo artist Dr. Woo is designing exclusive merchandise for the event, with all profits going to charity. The Golden Hour Festival will also support Baby2Baby, Crew Nation and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The livestream begins at 4PM EST/1PM PST/10PM CEST on Friday. You can watch live here.
