Ultra Music Festival Cancels Day 1 Due To Extreme Weather

Just before Hardwell was set to perform on the main stage, Ultra announced they would temporarily shut down the festival due to the extreme weather, which included lightning and strong winds.

The festival has been operating for most of the day with rain, which even stopped Tiesto’s set at one point and made for a very wet afternoon in Miami. Ponchos were seen everywhere and massive puddles meant for a tricky time traversing the festival grounds.

Safety is the most important thing, let’s hope the remaining DJ sets can happen at some point in the weekend.

At this point in time, re-broadcasts of past sets are happening on the live stream.

A severe weather warning has been issued for the area; “60mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail”. There was even a tornado warning, which would cause havoc at the festival.

With pictures like this, it’s going to be tricky to get everything cleared up for Saturday’s event.
