DC Shoes Debut The Shanahan Pro Model In Collaboration With John Shanahan

DC’s inaugural pro skate model, the Shanahan Pro, has generated significant excitement among enthusiasts. Developed in collaboration with New York-based team rider John Shanahan, this fresh silhouette pays homage to DC’s illustrious skate heritage. With its timeless, low-cut design, iconic branding, and remarkable attention to detail reminiscent of DC’s esteemed pro models, the Shanahan Pro embodies the spirit of the brand’s rich legacy.

Notable features include a TPR heel logo, a detachable strap crafted from stabilizer-injected TPU, and an EVA heel cradle. Drawing inspiration from Shanahan’s preferred lifestyle sneaker releases, the color scheme of the Shanahan Pro reflects DC’s renowned sport-luxe aesthetic synonymous with their celebrated skate shoes. Furthermore, this model boasts contemporary upgrades in materials and innovative technology, elevating its overall construction. The utilization of suede and leather in the upper ensures exceptional durability, while the impact-resistant sole guarantees optimal performance during rigorous skate sessions without compromising on board feel. Meticulously curated by Shanahan himself, the Shanahan Pro strikes a perfect balance between style and functionality.

Shanahan on what inspired the design: “I took most of my inspiration directly from DC Shoes. My goal was to create a shoe that fits the late 90s/early 2000s DC aesthetic but was also entirely new. I studied some of my favorite DC models, such as the Howard 2, the LYNX, the Legacy, and a few others. I wanted to try to incorporate some of my favorite features from those models while adding my own flair to them. The main focus was style and performance. I really wanted to make something that would stand the test of time and still be wearable/skateable in 20+ years.”

The Shanahan Pro is available July 1st at DCShoes.com and select skate shops across the globe.
