If there are two artists who are eager to stretch their wings post-lockdown area, it’s Squired And Cerdin. Both have unique takes on dance music, embracing a wide array of genre influences which can be sensed within the productions that they make. Now they’ve meshed the best parts of both their styles in “Proxy.”
Doused in a dystopian / cyberpunk setting, the sharp and technical drum work drives the force of the track while the gritty synth inclusion pours in the darkness. The theme present here is as gripping as it is adventurous, the capabilities of both artists glimmering as the sonic adventure scoops the listener up.
With releases on Ultra Music, Proximity Recordings, and Elysian Records, Squired enjoys a good challenge to push the envelope when it comes to expectations musically. He’s shared the stage with names like Pluko, Juelz, Jawns, and Hex Cougar, showing no signs of slowing his role as he continues his rise.
Cerdin has a sense of instrumentation, in particular percussion, that breathes new life into a room. He’s a cratedigger by all accounts, getting into the nitty gritty of the sounds that come his way.
